Angles that work
1. The timeline
How long each step took: “$0 → $1K MRR: 7 months. $1K → $5K: 4 months.” It shows acceleration, and founders love comparing timelines.
2. The one thing that moved the needle
Name the single change behind the jump: a pricing update, an SEO page that started ranking, a partnership. Specific beats generic.
3. The honest version
Include the flat months and the churn. A curve with a dip and a recovery is a better story than a perfect line, and it’s believable.
4. What you’d tell yourself at $0
Three short lessons. Easy to read, easy to share.
5. The thank-you
Credit the early customers or the people who gave feedback. Tag them if they’re happy to be tagged.

Copy, then make them yours:
- “Just crossed $[X] MRR with [product]. [Y] months since launch. What got us here: [one thing].”
- “[Product] MRR: $[A] → $[B] in [N] months (+[G]%). Biggest lesson: [lesson].”
- “$1K MRR took [N] months. $5K took [M]. Here’s what changed in between: 🧵”
- “Not sharing the exact number, but MRR is up [G]% in [N] months. The curve says it better:”
Make the visual match the moment
- Mark the milestone on the chart so nobody has to read axis labels.
- Show enough history for the jump to mean something: six to twelve months is usually right.
- Use a vertical (9:16) version for TikTok, Reels and Shorts; 16:9 or 1:1 for X and LinkedIn.
- If you’d rather not show the amount, show growth or the curve alone. See how to share MRR without showing the amount.
MotionMRR turns your real MRR into a milestone video: the curve draws itself, each milestone pops as the line crosses it, and the numbers are verified at the source. The first video is free.
When to post the milestone
- Wait until the milestone holds: a refund or a failed renewal the next day can pull you back under. Many founders wait until the month closes, or at least a few days.
- Post when your audience is online. Check when your past posts got the most replies.
- Prepare the visual before you cross the line, so you can post the same day instead of a week later.
After you post
- Reply to every comment in the first hour; that’s when a post gets most of its reach.
- Pin the post to your profile until the next milestone.
- Reuse it: the same story works on LinkedIn, in your newsletter and on your public page.
Which milestones to post
- First paying customer: the most relatable post you’ll ever write.
- $100 MRR: proof that strangers pay.
- $1K MRR: the classic “it’s real” milestone.
- $5K and $10K MRR: often where a side project starts to look like a living.
- One year since launch: a full-year curve, whatever the number.
